Becoming Amba

She struggles to say

I love myself.

She struggles to believe

I am worthy.

She struggles to claim

I deserve to be celebrated.

She struggles

because she has not yet learned

to value herself.

Partly shaped by

the weight of societal expectations,

and partly

by not being true to her own self.

But with time,

she changes.

As deeply as she loves to nurture,

as naturally as she cares for others,

she begins gently

to choose herself.

She makes space

for her own needs.

No one holds her back.

They see her for who she is,

understand the truth of her intentions,

They offer love and support.

It was never them,

as she once believed.

It was her

learning to return to herself.
